Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Jackson County Criminal History. Reading a page or using a search function indicates agreement with them. A visitor who does not accept the terms should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run website has no affiliation with a government body. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The resource points to public Jackson County, Michigan record channels. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It cannot issue records, perform an official check, file papers, or maintain an official criminal-history database.

The information routes visitors to Jackson County Sheriff, the correct district or circuit court, Michigan State Police and ICHAT, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to tools operated by separate companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, a visitor agrees not to:

  • Use site content for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, stalk, intimidate, or threaten another person
  • Apply the information to FCRA-regulated decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized system or account access
  • Operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry data is especially sensitive. MCL 28.728 makes the public information available for safety purposes and forbids unlawful acts against a listed person. Vigilante conduct and threats are prohibited.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. No consumer report, credit report, or official background check is produced here. Data from the site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A lawful FCRA-regulated check must come from an appropriate official or FCRA-compliant provider, not from this site.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations about Jackson County records are not legal advice. A licensed Michigan attorney should address how a warrant, charge, conviction, or set-aside law applies to a particular matter.

6. No Warranties

All material is provided "as is." There is no promise that:

  • Partner search results will be complete or correct
  • Every published detail is current and accurate
  • The site will operate without interruption
  • Pages will contain no defect or security weakness

Charges, dispositions, restrictions, and set-asides can change a record after publication. Gaps are unavoidable. Site content is never an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External links can lead to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-aid, or commercial services. The destination controls its content, privacy practices, prices, and availability. Its own terms should be reviewed before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Jackson County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, modification, distribution, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from site use or reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Michigan.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms may be posted here and take effect upon publication.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected provision is adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.
